How to read an SGD to MYR exchange-rate chart
Learn what the latest rate, time range, highs, lows and candlesticks can—and cannot—tell you before exchanging SGD for MYR.
Start with the quote direction
An SGD/MYR rate shows how many Malaysian ringgit one Singapore dollar is worth. If the chart reads 3.45, a reference conversion of 100 SGD is 345 MYR before any provider spread or fee.
A higher number means one Singapore dollar buys more ringgit. A lower number means it buys less. This direction matters because MYR/SGD describes the inverse relationship.
Match the chart to your decision window
Use the one-day view to inspect recent readings, and longer ranges to see whether the latest rate sits near the top, middle or bottom of its recent range. A single move should not be treated as a trend on its own.
Line charts make direction easy to scan. Candlesticks compress several readings into an opening value, closing value, high and low, which helps when a longer range would otherwise look crowded.
- Check the timestamp before comparing two rates.
- Use highs and lows as context, not as guaranteed targets.
- Compare the same quote direction and time period.
The chart is not the amount you will receive
The graph shows observed and reference information. A bank, card, transfer app or money changer can include a spread and additional fees. Always compare the provider's final MYR amount for the exact SGD amount you plan to exchange.
Key takeaways
- SGD/MYR means MYR received for one SGD.
- Use a time range that matches your real deadline.
- Treat the graph as context and verify the executable quote separately.
